My yearly Trip to Thailand

After 2 week of holiday back to my wife's hometown in Thailand, i am finally back. This is a yearly routine for me and my wife to visit her family north of Thailand(TAK)500KM plus from Bangkok international airport which can take abt 4 hours of car journey if driving at speed of 120 km/hr if not will be 6hrs.

This time is special as we do not need to take the bus as my brother-in-law is waiting for us at the airport to go back together with us for the New Year Holidays.

My brother-in-law(Noi) and his son at carpark at BKK airport

This trip we went ISSAN(North-East of Thailand, famous for Somtum & kao niu(sticky rice))to visit their relatives which is quite a remote area. It was really fun and i did took quite a numbers of pictures to share with you.

We went to this "WAT Tung Song" at Uthaithani and bought some bread to feed the fishes. This is quite an old tradition of "giving" as practised by the locals.

Inside of Wat Tung Song

"Wat la kang" where the famous Somdek is used to reside there and shouldn't be hard to go as it is in BKK areas, just need to tell the taxi-driver.This pitiful dog who roams outside the Wat met with an accident and his owner was kind and innovative enough to give the dog a new life by designing a "wheel chair".

Will be back with more pictures when i am free. stay tuned

Bacarrat

As my work schedule does not require my to work everyday so during my off day i plan to go up the ship (LW) to win some money and it was quite boring without kaki so i ask my buddy kiong who is working same schedule as me but different company whether he is interested to go up as we both like to gamble.Once go up i oriented him directly him to the casino as this is our main priority. He started off in 3 cards and me as usual big small, i died heavy on that to the extent that people bet opposite me.I even borrow money from kiong as he come and look for me but still lose.
So i decided to change game to bacarrat which is new to me and to my surprise i managed to win back all my losses that day plus a few hundred bucks.Although not very familiar to the rules of game but know that 9 point is the highest. So who cares as long can win money and slowly i started to play this game when i go up the ship

Money too little

After the trip i learn to enjoy life if not life very boring but to enjoy you need to have money so one fine day(i think is Christmas's eve) year 1999, my friend Huat says mike ask we all whether want to go ship for entertainment so i agreed and start to ask my kaki along(bayi).I lost about 2k that nite in playing big and small. Then i started to think of ways to win back what i have lost, so many systems in my mind on how to bet and double up and eventually i win $800 on my second trip whch is on New Year's eve.

Life after ORD

My story begin when i was about to ORD in mid 1998 and during that time i was clearing my annual leave so my friend ask me want to apply for passport as he is going to apply for one so i ask myself :'why not!sooner or later need to apply one mah, might as well do it now' so i just tag along. At that point of time, travelling is not my top priority as i was about to step up to the society and start earning money like everyone.
After working for one years plus, .managed to have my own credit card and little savings and one of my army friend ask me whether want to go Thailand or not so i agree anyway i still have some leave to clear. That is my first overseas trip of my life and i would say it is very 'SANUK' until to the extent that although my body has touched down to Changi airport, my heart is still at there. We cheong there as if there is no tomorrow, no stress, no work how wish the trip can last forever but no matter what still have to face the reality of coming back here.
